Dave Salvaterra Fund for Audubon Elementary

Dave Salvaterra believed in the inherent dignity of children, and that all children deserve to have caring adults in their lives. He embodied that belief in the way he was a father to his children, and in the way he volunteered his time. Throughout his career at Loras College he volunteered at Audubon Elementary, acting as a regular presence in the lives of children there, some of whom did not have much in their lives that was regular. He contributed to a rich partnership between Loras and Audubon, and, in the words of one stakeholder at Audubon, “made miracles happen.”

This fund supports Dave’s vision for elementary schools as a place where children are seen, are celebrated, and thrive, by increasing investment in Audubon Elementary’s programming.
