This year’s fundraiser is sponsored by Hirschbach! Thank you to Hirschbach Motor Lines for working alongside us while we celebrate the Dubuque Public Schools students, staff, and alumni!

This event is a fundraiser that supports the FDPS and allows our organization to fulfill our mission of supporting student achievement by promoting investment in the Dubuque Public Schools. The foundation supports district projects and programs that go beyond the school district’s budget. Some examples of our support include field trips, hands on learning projects, new books and technology, after-school programming, classroom grants, essential items for success in school, and funding for music and arts education. Making sure we have resources available to help students succeed gives our students and staff a competitive edge, ensuring that our schools are attractive to families for years to come.  Last year we raised close to $80,000 and this year we have set out goal higher…$100,000!

Nominate the next 2024 Distinguished Hometown Alumni Award Recipient!

The Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools is seeking nominations for the 2024 Distinguished Hometown Alumni Award. This award will be given to a past DCSD alumnus who currently lives in the Dubuque area and has made a positive impact in the community and schools. The winner will be honored at our annual event on March 20, 2024.

Why are we giving this award?

To celebrate the achievements of DCSD graduates and showcase their accomplishments. We want to share real-life examples of Dubuque Senior, Hempstead, and Alternative Learning Center
alumni who have benefitted from Dubuque’s public education and have used their skills to improve the community.

Nominations for the Distinguished Hometown Alumni award are accepted until February 19, 2024.

Previous recipients include philanthropists and community leaders, such as Cheryl Falb, Susan Butler Ritts, Tim Hodge, Jeffrey Mozena, Ann McDonough, Susan Farber and Kristen Woodward-Vaassen.
